Skala Eressos, a Greek fishing village I've visited four times, captivated me again in September 2024 when I photographed a cat napping on the beach. More than just a lesbian haven or Sappho's birthplace, Skala Eressos is a testament to community. Since the 70s, the influx of lesbian tourists has fostered a culture of animal care. Now, stray cats and dogs are universally adopted, a small gesture of hope in this cherished place.
