A Visit to My Future Self
BERLIN I arrived yesterday late afternoon in Berlin. I checked in at the hotel, took a bite to eat and went straight to the queer bar Silverfuture at Weserstrße 206 in Neukölln. It's run by two women, and yesterday it was a queers got talent event.
It was a young international crowd. In fact, I heard very little German and mostly English. They were all dressed in a very queer similar way. The mullet, the blue and pink hair, everyone with tattoos and nobody was a poster girl for big company brands. Many had left legs and armpits unshaven.
I found it all very inspiring. It was like a never ending fashion show. A mix of individual expressions of clothes at the same time as they all seemed to come from the same festival. I don’t know how else to describe it.
It was a very hot evening. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and took a table outside. As I was sitting there, I realized my search was over. I had found the lesbians. Here they were, and they kept coming all evening as a long stream of endless consciousness. I was a bit shocked actually. This was one of the few times on my LESBIAN TOUR when I did not have to ask anyone where the lesbians were. For one evening I could just relax and enjoy the buzz. If I had lived in Berlin, I would come here all the time.
